HIGHLIGHTS

  • Production amounted to nearly 1.1 million boe/d, which was around 33% of our total 2011 production.
  • After-tax earnings from oil and gas exploration and production operations of our subsidiaries in the region were $2.5 billion. Our share of oil and gas exploration and production earnings of equity-accounted investments was $2.4 billion.
  • We are participating in the development of eight projects in the region: Harweel and Amal in Oman; SAS and Bab Thamama G and Bab Habshan-2 in the United Arab Emirates; Gumusut-Kakap and Sabah Gas Kebabangan in Malaysia; Kashagan Phase 1 in Kazakhstan; and Majnoon FCP in Iraq. Shell also signed an agreement with the government of Iraq to establish the Basrah Gas Company and acquired a 30% interest in the Indonesian Masela block, which contains the Abadi FLNG field.
