Projects & technology overview
Our Projects & Technology (P&T) organisation manages the delivery of our major projects and drives the innovation that leads to new technology. It provides technical services and technological capability covering Integrated Gas, Upstream and Downstream activities, including the management of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
The realisation of our business strategy depends on our ability to find energy resources and develop them into profitable assets that yield marketable products. P&T marshals that ability for Shell and applies it to deliver oil and gas projects.
In addition, P&T carries out the research and development (R&D) that leads to improvements not only in its project-delivery abilities but also in the performance of our businesses, which ultimately operate project facilities and sell their products.
Finally, P&T provides the functional leadership for our global contracting and procurement as well as safety, helping ensure that our projects remain competitive and do not harm people or the environment.
